Okay....first off...SUPERB JOB!!! This is seriously fantastic! I looked at the original photo, and you captured that eye dead on! I have recently delved into colored pencils, and now have a newfound respect for them. So I know how difficult they can be to really get things looking great in an art piece, but it shows here that you knew what you were doing. Great job!! It's a shame the "impact" option on the critique didn't have a higher rating option. I was blown away the second I saw this. I know that in the photo that background was a little hard to kinda.."understand" what was in it.. but you still did a good job with every aspect of the drawing. Keep it up!! You truly have an amazing talent!
Alright so the only things that I would change in the slightest way would be the flat black over the face. Although this could just be from uploading/scanning/whatever and the flat color on the ear. That's all!! It's still superb.
This is your best work. Whatever you did here, keep doing it! The color, depth, highlights all look great! I love the hint of purple and red in the eye. What did you use to blend the color? It would have been awesome to watch you make this.
To blend the color, I used the paper, actually. This was done using Crayola pencils, whose lack of a "waxy" feeling of Prismacolor allows a lot of white spots between the grain of the paper. I used a dominant color (the blue of the eyes) first, but I didn't press hard enough to completely fill the area. Then I went back over it with a very sharp pencil and hit all the white spots between the grain with a few different colors to give it more depth. After I did all that, I used a white pencil to gloss over the whole eye to give it the shiny/glassy look.
And yes, the black over the face was just the upload.
You're welcome! I showed it to a lot of people around my house (family reunion) and they were like "That's a cool photo!" and I was like "Colored pencils." So, um, like, 80% of my family now thinks you're amazing.

...in bed.
My friends say I act like Prussia. Is that good or bad?
