Critiques
Commendations are at hand for the brilliant and very bold idea, but I do have some qualms with it. While the drawing itself is proportionally sound, there is a certain conflict between the light sources of the foreground and the background. The light in the drawing seems to be descending from directly on top of the soldier and the creature, but in the background, it seems to be coming outward, towards the viewer. To make it look realistic, the bodies of the soldier and the creature would have to be darker, as the viewers would be exposed to their shadows. Alternatively, the background image could be adjusted slightly.
Another trifling thing that was spotted was the amount of contrast placed on the solider, along with the smokey outline surrounding him. I suppose the contrast of the highlights could be toned down in areas, and the smokey outline could be blended into the background a little more.
However, overall it is a wonderful and visually aesthetic piece. A few issues were spotted here and there, but I am glad to see you are branching out into new and better things. I eagerly look forward to more.
